Dual Credit Program Specialist 3
Background: An army brat, she grew up in the Philippines, Washington, Texas, California, and in different parts of Germany. Living in Tacoma, WA for over 25 years, she considers herself a Washingtonian.
What do you do at PC3: Georgia is responsible for collecting information from the CTE directors/teachers, managing and building CTE Dual Credit classes on the Student Enrollment and Reporting System (SERS), independently managing projects, budgets, and coordinating events and serving the school districts, students, families, and community.
Prior Experience: Georgia has previously worked at Clover Park Technical College as an instructional program assistant and faculty office assistant supporting the dean, several faculty and their programs. In addition, she has also worked as a receptionist and human resource assistant at Tacoma Goodwill Administrative Office. As a work study student, she has gained many skills working in the Early Learning Center as a childcare provider, teaching one-on-one students how to use the Microsoft Office application, and completing attention-to-detail projects in the former Legal Support Professional program.
Education: Georgia has an Associate’s of Applied Science degree in Business Office Technology and Dental Assistant Program Certificate from Clover Park Technical College and is working on a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Administrative Management.
How do you spend your free time: Georgia spends her free time staying active, enjoying quality time with family and friends, and taking her French bulldog, Harley for car rides and nature walks foraging edible mushrooms.
CTE Dual Credit Articulations Manager/Acting Director
Background: Jim’s roots are in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and California. He moved with his family to Washington State in 1974.
What do you do at PC3: Jim facilitates PC3 dual credit articulation agreements between PC3 member colleges and school districts. These agreements provide high school CTE students the opportunity to earn college credit while taking high school CTE courses. Currently, PC3 has 135 articulation agreements in areas like arts and communications, business, manufacturing-technology—engineering, health and human services and science and natural resources.
Prior Experience: Jim taught middle and high school social studies and English in California and Washington State and retired as a middle school principal. He supervised student teachers for Pacific Lutheran University and Old Dominion University prior to his employment with PC3. Jim retired from the Navy Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer in 1994.
Education: Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, a master’s degree in Education from the University of Washington, and an Administrator’s certification from Western Washington University.
How do you spend your free time: Jim enjoys travel, genealogy, gatherings with family and friends, dining out, and day trips exploring western Washington State.
